Wisconsin remains on outside of US LBM Coaches Poll entering Week 2

The Wisconsin football remained in the ‘receiving votes’ category of the latest US LBM Coaches Poll.

After knocking off Western Michigan 28-14 in the season opener Friday, Wisconsin garnered 11 total votes — the 33rd-highest total of all listed teams.

The US LBM Coaches Poll is conducted weekly throughout the college football regular season and the Badgers opened the year on the outside looking in, receiving 17 total votes, which was the 34th-highest total of all teams.

The top of the poll is led by Georgia at No. 1 overall, then Ohio State at No. 2,  Texas at No. 3, Alabama at No. 4. and Ole Miss at No. 5.

Wisconsin will host South Dakota on Saturday at 2:30 p.m. CT, looking to improve upon their performance from Week 1 versus Western Michigan. Although the Badgers out-gained the Broncos by 127 total yards, the contest was rather close for the majority of the night.

The Badgers will look to find their groove against the Coyotes on Saturday before No. 4 Alabama comes to town on Sept. 14.
