The Wisconsin Badgers football team has garnered a lot of attention in recent weeks due to the influx of talent they’ve added for their class of 2025. The latest On3 Industry Team Recruiting Rankings, as a result, has Wisconsin ranked at No. 20 overall.

Five Big Ten programs were ranked above the Badgers: Ohio State, Oregon, Penn State, Michigan and Rutgers.

Entering Thursday, Luke Fickell’s squad has secured 21 verbal commitments, most recently reeling in preferred walk-on specialist Erik Schmidt on Wednesday.

The Badgers are entering their second season with Fickell as their head coach and are looking to take the next step in their evolution to becoming a college football playoff team.

Wisconsin added 22 players in their class of 2024, 10 of which have already arrived on campus as early enrollees, including three-star quarterback Mabrey Mettauer.

Their class of 2024 was ranked as the 23rd best in the country by 247Sports and the class of 2025 is currently ranked No. 14 by the service.
