Wisconsin backup long snapper Duncan McKinley tore his ACL during the Badgers’ spring practice period, special teams coach Chris Haering told the media today.
#Badgers special teams coach Chris Haering with the news that backup long snapper Duncan McKinley tore his ACL. Peter Bowden is taking over for Adam Bay and as Haering said, key is to keep him healthy. Marty Strey has been doing emergency long snapping work.

McKinley walked on to the program with the 2020 recruiting class, joining a long snapper unit led by Adam Bay until the end of last season.
Peter Bowden is expected to take over the starting duties with Bay graduated. With McKinley now done for the year, the position becomes a thin one for a Wisconsin team that struggled with health for much of the 2020 season.
