Willy Love rolled out his cutdown of top schools on Wednesday afternoon with the New Jersey athlete now honing in on seven Power Five programs. Rutgers football was one of the schools to make the cut.
A four-star recruit according to ESPN and Rivals, Love is a consensus top 10 player in New Jersey. He is a class of 2024 prospect at Woodrow Wilson High School (Camden, N.J.).
His Wednesday announcement of a ‘Lucky Seven’ included Maryland, Penn State, Pittsburgh, West Virginia, Rutgers, Syracuse and Texas A&M.
The announcement came, Love said, because “it was the perfect time to put seven schools on the list of the 23, 24 schools that have reached out and offered me.” He hasn’t set any dates yet for official visits due to his track commitments. Love is working on finalizing those dates.
