There’s a lot of talk about how coaches find players from familiar areas to bolster their roster. The Bills have several players who are former Carolina Panthers, a nod to Sean McDermott and Brandon Beane’s connection to their former employer.
But how does this factor with colleges? After all, offensive coordinator Brian Daboll was hired after a stint with Alabama.
Plus, teammates often reach out to draft picks who frequented the same alma matter after the draft.
But which college is most represented on the Bills roster? The answer may surprise you.
Using Buffalo’s current roster, the winner is the Iowa Hawkeyes. Of the 70 players currently listed on Buffalo’s roster, four came from the Big Ten school. They are Micah Hyde, Ike Boettger, Nick Easley, and AJ Epenesa.
Alabama (Robert Foster, Levi Wallace, TJ Yeldon) was tied for second in representation on Buffalo’s roster with LSU (Tre’Davious White, Reid Ferguson, Corey Thompson), both schools with three players on the team.
