The regular season is now complete for the college football season and we have our best look at what teams might be in the College Football Playoff. That’s because the penultimate CFP Rankings were released on Tuesday and it’s become pretty clear what most of the field will look like, especially with just the conference championship games to go.

Ohio State lost yet another game to Michigan, this time in historic and unbelievable fashion at home, and as such, dropped a few spots from No. 2 down to No. 6, but still safely in the field.

This year is the first season we’ll have the 12-team playoff so we like to give you the full picture of where things stand with Ohio State and others in and around the CFP field.

No. 1 seed – Oregon Ducks (Projected Big Ten Champion based on ranking)

How many teams in College Football Playoff 2024?

For the first time, there will be 12 teams participating in the College Football Playoff. There are five automatic bids for each of the Power Four conference champions and one to the highest-ranked Group of Five champion. The remaining seven slots are given to the seven at-large teams.
