Where LSU stands for 4-star quarterback Jaden Rashada after official visit

Rashada took three official visits this week, and he’s set to make a decision next Saturday.

This week, LSU hosted one of its top targets in the 2023 recruiting class for an official visit in four-star Pittsburg (California) quarterback [autotag]Jaden Rashada[/autotag].

Rashada is the third highest-rated uncommitted passing prospect on the 247Sports Composite, ranking No. 45 nationally and No. 7 among signal-callers. It was a busy week for him, as he also took official visits to Florida and Texas A&M.

He visited Ole Miss in April, and California, Miami and Oregon all remain in the mix. However, schools are running out of time to plead their case for him. He’s set to make a decision in just a week on June 18.

“I think he has some great options, and it’s a really big decision to make with some really good opportunities for him,” his father, Harlen Rashada, said according to 247Sports’ Steve Wiltfong. “I think he’s to the point right now, he’s comfortable. Especially with that last run he made with all the options he has. It seems like he’s on track but I tell him all the time if you need more time take it. But I don’t think that’s the case. I think he’s really ready to find a home and help build a recruiting class.”

Harlen elaborated on each of the finalists for his son. Here’s what he said about LSU.

“(Quarterbacks) Coach (Joe) Sloan has probably been the most active guy recruiting him,” he said. “He’s great about reaching out and him and Jaden have had a lot of talks. A lot of quarterback development there. The school has great facilities, great history there, tons of talent. But I think bigger than all that, when we sat down with Coach Kelly, Jaden flat out asked him why did you leave Notre Dame. He said ‘because I wanted to play the best and beat the best.’ So I think he’s kind of a man on a mission and he has tons of resources and there is tons of talent at LSU.”

The Gators are currently considered the favorite to land Rashada per the On3 RPM, but as one of the teams to receive an official visit, the Tigers remain thoroughly in the mix and will surely continue to communicate with him over the course of the next week.
