Where is ESPN College GameDay setting up on the Texas campus?

Full fan guide to ESPN College GameDay’s location and schedule on the UT campus for the Georgia Bulldogs at Texas Longhorns game.

ESPN’s College GameDay is back on the UT Campus.

This will be the ninth time College GameDay has been to Austin. The last few times GameDay was in town, Texas lost. In fact, 2009 is the last time Texas won with the pregame show in town.

It was announced Thursday on the Pat McAfee show that the world’s No. 1 ranked golfer Scottie Scheffler will serve as the guest picker.

In the past, College GameDay has had different locations around the Texas Campus. But on Saturday, the show will set up in the absolute heart of the 40 Acres. The stage will be set up just behind the Littlefield Fountain with the South Mall leading up to the UT Tower as the backdrop. Fans will fill that corridor all the way up the hill to the Tower.

GameDay stalwart Lee Corso has missed the last two weeks of the show due to health concerns, but the network says Corso will be on hand in Austin.

Host Rece Davis and Corso will be joined by Kirk Herbstreit, Desmond Howard, Pat McAfee and Nick Saban. College football reporter Pete Thamel, college football betting analyst ‘Stanford Steve’ Coughlin and reporters Jen Lada and Jess Sims round out the crew.

In addition to Scheffler, ESPN says special guests on the show will include Texas head coach Steve Sarkisian, Longhorns legend Vince Young, Olympic gold medalist Gabby Thomas and comedian Tony Hinchcliffe.

ESPN is calling this ‘Texas Takeover‘ Weekend. In addition to College GameDay and the Georgia-Texas game, the network is also broadcasting the Formula 1 United States Grand Prix. The premier F1 race in America will be held at Austin’s Circuit of The Americas on Sunday.

Fans at the GameDay event will get photo opportunities with a custom Texas-wrapped Formula 1 car. The first 200 fans will receive free breakfast tacos to start the morning and will have the chance to win prizes including exclusive GameDay t-shirts and a chance to win a photo at the iconic desk with the show’s analysts.

ABC/ESPN will be rolling out the A-Team announcing crew for the game. Chris Fowler and Kirk Herbstreit will be in the booth at DKR. Holly Rowe and Katie George will also provide coverage.

College GameDay wasn’t in Austin last season at all, but the show was in the State Capital twice in 2022, once for the Alabama game and once for TCU. Texas lost both games.

Both times in 2022, the show set up on the LBJ Lawn between DKR and the LBJ Library. For the Alabama game, because of the early start time, ESPN moved to a desk inside the stadium for the final picks segment where they were joined by Glenn Powell as the guest picker.

A few weeks later, for the TCU game, the picks were made on the LBJ Lawn. Jordan Spieth acted as the guest picker.
