Tennessee Volunteer fans felt pretty good about what they were going to do with the so-called invasion of Ohio Stadium for a first-round College Football Playoff matchup on Saturday night against Ohio State. A blowout 42-17 loss later and things didn’t go quite according to plan.
Vols head coach Josh Heupel met with the media after the game and was understandably solemn in facing the music and answering some tough questions. He often credited Ohio State in his postgame comments but also lamented his team’s deficiencies and lack of execution that led to his squad’s demise.
In case you missed any of what Heupel said about Ohio State after seeing the team up front and center, you can catch his entire comments below thanks to the WATE 6 On Your Side YouTube Channel. By watching and listening, you can hear Heupel discuss the talent on the Buckeyes’ sideline, his team’s injuries, turning the page, and more.
While the season is now over for Tennessee, Ohio State will now begin preparations to head out to Pasadena to face Oregon in a seemingly traditional quarterfinal Rose Bowl matchup on January 1.
We’ll have plenty leading up to that one so come back often.
