What can we expect from Jeff Van Gundy‘s role as a senior consultant within the Boston Celtics? Van Gundy brings a wealth of experience to the storied franchise, having been the head coach of the New York Knicks and Houston Rockets and more recently has worked with Team USA and through them the Celtics’ star forwards Jaylen Brown and Jayson Tatum.
Van Gundy’s presence isn’t merely about assisting current Celtics head coach Joe Mazzulla, however. Instead, he is expected to provide a fresh set of eyes, a different perspective, and a deep understanding of basketball, derived from years of coaching and broadcasting. He will also be doing it at the G League level with the Maine Celtics as well as the parent club in Boston.
