What Bill Belichick told Patriots in locker room after win over Bills

“We need our best week. Keep building on what we’ve been building on here.”

Here’s what New England Patriots coach Bill Belichick told his team in the locker room at Gillette Stadium after defeating the Buffalo Bills in Week 16.

“That’s the way to compete fellas,” Belichick said on Saturday evening. “That’s the way to compete. It wasn’t perfect, but you guys competed your ass off, and that was the difference. Alright, so it’s very simple now. OK? This was a playoff game. Miami’s a playoff game. If we beat Miami, then we get a bye. If we don’t, then we’ll be playing the next week. So it’s a playoff game, so we’ve got to be ready to go here. We need our best week. Keep building on what we’ve been building on here, and keep this thing rolling.

“But fellas, that was a damn good job today. But this is playoff football. I saw some guys step up today. We need everybody, alright? So let’s enjoy this one. Relax. Come back ready to go. This is a big week. We’re in the playoffs. We’re in the playoffs now. AFC East champions, congratulations.”
