Week 14 CFP Eliminator: Goodbye Bama

For the first time in the College Football Playoff era, the Alabama Crimson Tide have been eliminated from CFP contention.

Week 14: Teams Remaining

We began the week with 11 teams. We eliminated two more in Week 13, so nine teams remain in contention. Every independent and Group of 5 team has already been eliminated.

ACC:

Team: Notes:
Clemson Undefeated after Week 14. Needs another win to feel safe, especially if Georgia upsets LSU.

Big 12:

Team: Notes:
Baylor Has a decent chance at a Playoff bid with a win over Oklahoma in the Big 12 Championship Game. LSU and Oregon winning would be a huge help.
Oklahoma Has a decent chance at a Playoff bid with a win over Baylor in the Big 12 Championship Game. LSU and Oregon winning would be a huge help.

Big Ten:

Team: Notes:
Minnesota A great season, but two losses and only one ranked win means no Playoff this year.
Ohio State Undefeated after Week 14. Likely a Playoff lock regardless.
Wisconsin No real path remaining. Needs to beat Ohio State and hope that Clemson loses by a significant margin.

Pac 12:

Team: Notes:
Oregon No real path remaining. Needs to obliterate Utah and hope that Clemson loses by a significant margin.
Utah Has a decent chance with a win over Oregon, but has to worry about being jumped by the Big 12 champion. Clemson losing would be a big help.

SEC:

Team: Notes:
Alabama Two losses and no ranked wins means no Playoff resume.
Georgia In the Playoff with a win. Likely out with a loss, but could be in with a close loss and Utah and Clemson losses.
LSU Undefeated after Week 14. Likely a lock regardless of result next week.
