Tight end Jason Witten has been cause for consternation for fans of the Dallas Cowboys who believe that his backup Blake Jarwin should be getting the lion share of the snaps.
For at least one play, the future Hall of Famer was right where he needed to be, pulling a third down catch thrown behind him down with one hand and finishing the play in the end zone.

That catch more than makes up for the drop Witten had on second down earlier in the drive that would have resulted in a first down. He now trails former wide receiver Dez Bryant (73) by just one touchdown reception for the most in franchise history, breaking the second place tie with Hall of Fame receiver “Bullet” Bob Hayes.
The Cowboys lead 7-0 with just under two minutes left in the first quarter.
