The Los Angeles Rams’ already-deep wide receiver group got some additional help on Friday night when they selected Van Jefferson out of the University of Florida. He’s a technician and a savvy route runner, matching what the Rams have with Robert Woods and Cooper Kupp.
Jefferson was a target for the Rams all offseason, showing interest in him at the Senior Bowl and by talking to him before the draft. He’s thrilled to now be a member of the Rams, joining a strong group of receivers.
After being drafted, he got a call from Rams GM Les Snead, who welcomed him to the team. Have a listen.
“You’re a Los Angeles Ram, my man.”

When the call came in, Jefferson tried to keep his composure. He was at home with his family, which was ready to celebrate as soon as he got off the phone.
Here’s his reaction to being drafted by the Rams.
