Someone must have got into Ryan Day’s ear… RUN. THE. BALL.
Justin Fields has been off his game today and much of that may be attributed to missing his No. 1 target in Chris Olave. However, that still doesn’t explain Fields throwing the ball 20 times in the first half, when the Buckeyes have been gashing the Northwestern defense with the run.
With Master Teague out for undisclosed reasons after a big gain himself, Trey Sermon has taken off. Sermon has 150 yards on 10 carries so far on the day and looking for more. The Bucks are going to need more to avoid an upset of colossal proportions.
Watch Sermon break free for a 65-yard run to set the Buckeye offense up in the red zone.

Now, the offense needs to figure out a way to get to the endzone. Just a guess here… but maybe run the ball.
