Texas quarterback Quinn Ewers faces an important offseason ahead of the 2023 campaign. The Longhorns’ signal-caller has much to prove this season.
Ewers had a bit of a roller-coaster redshirt freshman year in 2022. He had the look of a future first-round draft pick at times against Alabama and Oklahoma but struggled in games against Oklahoma State and TCU.
The pressure is on Ewers to take the next step as a quarterback this offseason. With superstar running back Bijan Robinson off to the NFL, Ewers is set to lead the Longhorns’ offense.
Word from spring camp is Ewers is taking the necessary strides from a development standpoint. Ewers’ Texas teammates gave him a great deal of praise following Thursday’s practice.
Tight end Ja’Tavion Sanders mentioned the competition with Maalik Murphy and Arch Manning has helped Ewers step up his game. Wide receiver Jordan Whittington has “lots of faith” in the third-year quarterback.
A lot of praise from dudes on both sides of the ball about Quinn Ewers' progress this spring #HookEm
