Sam Ehlinger was born to be the starting quarterback for the Texas Longhorns. Since the time he was a kid, Ehlinger has been a fan of the Texas football team. There are countless photos and videos of the quarterback flashing the “Hook ’em” sign as a kid.
Now, his dream has been fulfilled and is going into his third season as the starting quarterback. Ehlinger has led Tom Herman’s squad on and off the field.
Over his three seasons, Ehlinger has thrown for 8,840 yards, 68 touchdowns, and 22 interceptions.
Going into his senior season, the Austin native is going to be better than ever under Mike Yurcich’s new-look offense. The newly hired offensive coordinator is going to spread the ball out and give Ehlinger the green light in an air raid offense.
The Texas Football Twitter account prepared a hype video for Ehlinger’s senior season and released it Friday morning. It shows photos and videos of him as a kid singing “The Eyes of Texas”, highlights throughout his career, and an interview with former quarterback Colt McCoy.
