WATCH: Texas QB Quinn Ewers jogging and throwing during warmups

Quinn Ewers might return before originally expected.

Quinn Ewers’ return might come faster than originally reported. The transfer quarterback was seen warming up on the field prior to the UTSA game on Saturday and did not look significantly encumbered by his injured shoulder.

The Longhorns’ gunslinger exhibited little to no discomfort as his arms swung during his pregame jog. Hope of an early return could inject life into the team after his strong performance against Alabama.

In addition, Ewers was seen effortlessly throwing the football in warmups. It appeared the Longhorns’ star was making an effort to minimize movement of his left shoulder to avoid pain. Albeit, it did not seem to affect his accuracy.

Now, attention shifts to how soon Ewers can return. Many speculated Ewers would return for the Oklahoma game at the earliest. Now it looks like he could return for West Virginia or perhaps even for Texas Tech.

Ultimately, only the doctors, coaching staff, Quinn Ewers and Ewers’ family know the severity of the injury. Even so, it looks like the Texas signal-caller is healing on schedule.
