Could this finally be the year that the Texas Longhorns are able to live up to their preseason hype and potential?
The Longhorns are widely viewed as the best team in the Big 12, in a conference that has been much more competitive in the past. While there are challengers like Kansas State and Oklahoma, the consensus has been that 2023 is the year of the Longhorn.
If Texas is able to avoid falling on their face as they have been prone to do by losing trap games, there is a realistic possibility that they can contend for the Big 12 and maybe even the College Football Playoff.
While coaches and players will take everything one day at a time, there has to be anticipation building up within the program. There is a new culture at Texas, and while teams of the past have always worked hard this team has a much better mindset and it is evident in their summer workouts.

Texas teams of the previous regime were unable to battle through adversity and were often punched in the mouth by other teams that they should have beaten. This team has a different aura around them, and are viewed as having a far more of a killer instinct. Only time will tell, but I can’t blame Texas fans if they have decided to sip on the Kool-Aid.
