Former Ohio State safety Ronnie Hickman got off to a stellar start to his NFL career with the Cleveland Browns thanks in large part for his performance in last week’s preseason game against the Commanders.
Hickman was a two year starter for the Buckeyes and was a consistent presence for the Ohio State defense playing in a hybrid linebacker safety role. He was named to all Big Ten teams in both of his seasons of starting in 2021 and 2022.
After going undrafted in the 2023 NFL draft, he is in a battle for a roster spot and with his play so far in the preseason he is building a good case for himself.
On Thursday, in a matchup with the Eagles, Hickman continued his stellar play and and ball-hawking ways with a pick off of a Marcus Mariota pass in the first quarter.
Ronnie Hickman already has 3 INTs this Preseason and somehow went undrafted🤯

It’s too early yet to tell whether or not Hickman’s play will result in an active roster spot, but he’s certainly not hurting his case with how often he is finding himself around the ball so far in the preseason.
