WATCH: RB Trey Sermon rips off long run in Ohio State preseason camp

If you wanted to get a good look at what running back Trey Sermon will bring to the Ohio State offense, watch what he did in practice.

Ohio State fans’ exposure to running back Trey Sermon is limited. Many remember a catch and run in the ‘Shoe from a few years ago when he played for Oklahoma, but beyond that, he dealt with injuries and a backup role with the Sooners.

He’s healthy now though, and he flashed some of that speed and explosiveness during a play in preseason camp that the Ohio State Football Twitter account shared Saturday.

For background purposes, Sermon is a lean 6-foot, 1-inch, and 215 pounds. He has an upright running style with a long gate and catches the ball well out of the backfield. He’s got some wiggle to him, but gets up to full speed in a straight-line quickly.

We can’t wait to see more of this in the fall as Sermon gets behind that talented offensive line and picks out his holes.
