The Dallas Cowboys are once again having their way with an opponent. While two turnovers and an end-zone drop kept the scoring down through the first quarter, the feeling that the club was on the verge of snuffing out the New York Giants’ hope was always present. On their first drive of the second quarter, the strike occurred.
The Cowboys took over at their 35-yard line after another Giants punt, and as they had done the entire first quarter, they immediately started to bludgeon the New York defense with the run. Ezekiel Elliott scooted for a 14-yard gain, giving him 71 yards on 12 carries to take up most of Dallas’ early 100 yards on the ground. Then, boom. Quarterback Dak Prescott found wide receiver CeeDee Lamb down the right sideline with a perfect pass right onto his fingertips. The result, a 49-yard score.
