WATCH: Ohio State running back Trey Sermon’s reaction after being drafted by the 49ers

Ohio State RB Trey Sermon had a hard time containing his emotions when he heard his name called courtesy of the 49ers in the 2021 NFL draft.

OK.

Yeah, we’re at it again. Not only do we like to follow the NFL draft and let you know when an Ohio State player comes off the board, but we also like to see the fans’ and players’ reactions when a Buckeye gets his name called.

There’s nothing like finally letting the moment sink in for some prospects knowing that their highest of hopes and dreams have been realized and all the hard work, sacrifice, and dedication has paid off.

Ohio State running back Trey Sermon was no different. His path was a winding one full of injury, a transfer decision from Oklahoma to Ohio State, and then a platoon-type situation last season.

But then he absolutely went off when given the chance at the tail end of the season. It may have all been cut a bit short when he injured his shoulder in the national championship game, but he already showed the NFL types what he could do.

Then it happened. Sermon got selected by the San Francisco 49ers in the third round of the 2021 NFL draft Friday night, and his reaction was worth a look.

We feel you big fella. Don’t hold back, let all that emotion out and realize that you have a ticket to the grandest stage in the world to show everyone what you can do now.
