There was some surprise when 2025 quarterback [autotag]Tavien St. Clair[/autotag] made commited to [autotag]Ohio State[/autotag].
It’s not that the in-state signal caller wasn’t good enough, it was that the Buckeyes have been chasing other targets for much longer. It’s hard to argue with any offer Ohio State makes at the position: Head coach [autotag]Ryan Day[/autotag]’s track record has earned him plenty of slack.
Regardless of the situation, the Buckeyes found the cornerstone of their 2025 recruiting class, St. Clair, and he has provided glimpses why Ohio State wanted him. His frame changed since the end of his sophomore year and with it came new strength.
St. Clair’s arm is much livelier, and this clip he shared on Twitter backs that up. He launches a ball over 70 yards, showing he has the arm strength to play for the Buckeyes.

St. Clair stands 6 feet, 3 1/2 inches and weighs 210 pounds. He is the No. 17 quarterback and No. 238 overall player in the 2025 class according to the 247Sports composite. If he continues his upward trajectory like many previous Ohio State recruits, St. Clair’s ranking will improve before he ends up in Columbus.
