There’s a certain piece of video starring Ohio State cornerback Jeff Okudah going through on-field drills at the NFL Combine that is making the rounds, and for good reason. The fluidity, footwork, and hip turns of Okudah can get lost in a game in the ‘Shoe, but when you isolate him, the technique is pretty amazing.
Case in point — watch the video of Okudah backpedaling, turning his hips, and chopping his feet while keeping his head up and making a turn towards the ball in the following on-field drill. No other defensive back looked so polished, so in command, and frankly so athletic.
It’s pretty amazing really to witness the marriage between his athletic ability and technique. Okudah is going to shred it in the NFL, and this is just one more example of why he’s a lock-down type guy that teams are drooling over.
