Notre Dame wasn’t really ever in on the [autotag]Arch Manning[/autotag] sweepstakes that came to a conclusion Thursday as the star high school quarterback announced his decision to attend Texas. However, the first Irish commitment in the 2023 recruiting class was from defensive end [autotag]Keon Keeley[/autotag] who is viewed as a top-10 player in the entire cycle.
What does that matter you ask?
It really doesn’t in terms of Manning’s commitment to the Longhorns but it is at least fun to point out that Arch and Keon have competed against each other before. Keeley of Berkeley Prep in Florida took on Manning and Newman of Louisiana last year and lets just say that round one went to the future Domer.
See a few highlights from Keeley’s memorable night below as they include an interception, sack, and multiple hurries.
Whoops. Someone left this here. Totally isn’t Keon Keeley having a day against the newest Texas Longhorn. pic.twitter.com/2XSICEhrvT
