Mac Jones shocked many college football fans, including some from the Crimson Tide fan base, when he took over the starting quarterback job and not only won a national championship, but looked like an elite quarterback prospect.
Now, as the 2021 NFL draft is just over a month away, NFL fans are wondering where he might begin his professional career.
NFL analyst Chris Simms joined the Dan Patrick show to talk about Jones.
Simms argues that too many “unqualified people are making qualifying statements,” which leads to confusion. He stands strong in his belief that Jones will be drafted in the top 10.
He also goes on to make a brief comparison between Jones and his predecessor, Tua Tagovailoa.
Simms makes the point that he was not high on Tagovailoa heading into the 2020 draft, and that Jones is the better prospect of the two.
The analyst has high praise for what Jones can do in the pocket, as well as the “NFL style” throws he can make.
"Mac Jones is a better prospect than Tua. Mac Jones is going to go in the top ten from just what I've seen right now." –@CSimmsQB #RollTide
