Anthony Russo is a Spartan, with the graduate transfer quarterback from Temple making it official via Twitter on Saturday.

Russo, who was a three-year starter at Temple, announced earlier this week that he would be continuing his collegiate career at MSU next season. On Saturday, he released a welcome video to express his excitement in becoming a Spartan.

Check out the video below:

Russo will battle it out with redshirt freshman Payton Thorne, junior Theo Day, freshman Noah Kim and incoming freshman Hamp Fay for the starting quarterback spot next season. Russo and Thorne are the two clear favorites for the starting nod heading into spring ball.

Russo, who is listed at 6-foot-4 and 235 pounds, was a three-year starter at Temple, appearing in 26 games. He has a completion percentage of 59.6%, 6,287 passing yards, 44 passing touchdowns and 32 interceptions in his career. Russo also has seven career rushing touchdowns.
