Lonzo Ball continued his torrid play of late on Saturday night, pouring in a team-high 24 points to help the Pelicans earn a 117-115 win in Sacramento.

In the fourth quarter, Ball caught fire, scoring 15 points and making big play after big play. The 15 points is the most he’s scored in a fourth quarter in his NBA career. the 24 points also continues a career-best scoring streak. Prior to the current back-to-back, Ball had not scored 20 points in back-to-back games in his career. After Saturday’s performance, Ball is currently three games running with at least 23 points.

The scoring hasn’t stopped his distribution and rebounding as he finished with 10 assists and six rebounds. His biggest assist of the evening came in the final offensive play for the Pelicans as he found JJ Redick for the eventual game-winning floater over Richaun Holmes.

Behind Ball’s strong play, the Pelicans have made a run at the eight seed, moving to within three games of the Spurs for the final playoffs spot following their win in Sacramento.
