WATCH: Khalil Mack fires up Mitchell Trubisky before Giants game

Mitchell Trubisky received a pep talk from Khalil Mack ahead of the Giants game, and it’s no wonder Trubisky came out firing.

Following an impressive fourth-quarter performance where he orchestrated three touchdown drives, Bears quarterback Mitchell Trubisky was looking to build off that momentum against the Giants.

And he did just that.

Trubisky marched the Bears 82 yards in 12 plays to score a touchdown — a Trubisky to David Montgomery 28-yard touchdown — on the opening possession of the game. He continued that hot streak throughout the first half, including an impressive 15-yard touchdown to receiver Darnell Mooney, where Trubisky bought time with his legs, at the end of the first half.

Trubisky also got a little motivational speech from stud pass rusher Khalil Mack ahead of the game, as seen in Mack’s mic’d up segment. And after listening to Mack’s words for Trubisky, it’s no wonder Trubisky came out firing.

While Trubisky’s performance was far from consistent — he struggled in the second half and tossed two interceptions — it’s hard to deny that Trubisky has shown improvement this season.

Whether it’s in the way he’s going through his progressions, his decision-making or how he was extending plays with his legs and turning those into touchdowns, it’s certainly more encouraging than many believed it would be.

Trubisky remains a question mark after just two games, but he has shown signs of improvement. We’ll see if he can continue to build off that momentum, especially as the opposition gets more challenging.
