Former Texas wide receiver Collin Johnson continues to make the most of his opportunity with the Jacksonville Jaguars.
On Friday, several highlight reels were posted on Twitter of Johnson showcasing numerous one-handed grabs and great route running.
The Jaguars used their No. 165 pick in the 2020 NFL Draft to select Johnson in the fifth round. He’ll provide a can’t-miss target for quarterback Gardner Minshew, but he’s currently listed as the No. 6 wide receiver on the depth chart.
Johnson will be competing for snaps behind Dede Westbrook, Chris Conley, DJ Chark Jr., Keelan Cole and Laviska Shenault Jr. When you transition to the NFL as a rookie, you hope to do something that makes you stand out at practices.
That’s exactly what Johnson has done. His 6-foot-6 frame will catch your eye in itself, but the former Texas star got the best of defensive back Tre Herndon several times throughout practice this week.

The Jaguars are quickly realizing that drafting Johnson in the fifth round was an absolute steal.
