It was a sluggish start, but Michigan State eventually pulled away on Friday to earn a comfortable win over Central Michigan to open the 2023 season.
The Spartans led only by a field goal at halftime, but were able to outscore the Chippewas 21-0 in the second half to pick up the 31-7 victory. With the win, Michigan State improves to 1-0 on the season and will return to the field next week against FCS-foe Richmond.
