Cam Newton remains a free agent, now almost three months after the Panthers released him.
Newton continues to share videos of himself working out with high-profile athletes on his Instagram page. Yesterday, he was shooting hoops with Falcons running back Todd Gurley. Today, he’s throwing with Browns wide receiver Odell Beckham Jr.
The day Newton was cut the Panthers also signed wide receiver Robby Anderson to a two-year, $20 million deal. It’s more than just a little bit ironic since Anderson is by far the best receiver the team has signed in free agency since Cam was drafted in 2011.
Maybe the team that signs Newton will pair him with a true star wideout, which would be the first he gets to work with since Steve Smith Sr. seven years ago.
