WATCH: Anthony Richardson’s 45-yard TD puts Florida ahead of Utah

Anthony Richardson has the Florida Gators up at halftime after breaking a 45-yard rushing touchdown against Utah.

Florida’s [autotag]Anthony Richardson[/autotag] has looked every bit as advertised in the first half against Utah, and his 45-yard rushing touchdown put the Gators ahead of the Utes to close the half.

One of the reasons fans were so high on Richardson a year ago was his big-play ability. That was on full display in the first half against Utah. After the defense held the Utes to a pair of field goals in the second quarter, Richardson led a drive down the field and took the ball the rest of the way by himself once the Gators entered into Utah territory.

This is the reason Florida fans wanted him to start ahead of Emory Jones in 2021, it’s the reason he’s a potential first-round pick without playing a full season and it’s the reason the Gators are leading going into the half.

This was actually the second rushing touchdown of the evening. He scored in the first quarter on a two-yard run and finished the half with 74 yards and two touchdowns on five carries. He completed 10 of 13 passes for 101 yards.
