Warriors’ Steph Curry nominated for ‘Best NBA Player’ at ESPN’s 2021 ESPY awards

Steph Curry has the chance to earn more hardware from his 2020-21 campaign at the ESPY awards.

After a thrilling performance throughout the 2020-21 NBA season, Steph Curry is beginning to stack up a flurry of different awards.

First Team All-NBA, Most Valuable Player finalist and scoring champ are some of the accolades the Golden State Warriors point guard has stacked up since the conclusion of his 2020-21 campaign. However, he might not be done.

Curry has been named a finalist for the “Best NBA Player” award at ESPN’s 2021 edition of the ESPY award. Alongside Curry, 2021 Most Valuable Player Nikola Jokic, Dallas Mavericks guard Luka Doncic and Phoenix Suns point guard Chris Paul rounded out the ballot for the ESPY award.

During the 2020-21 season, Curry averaged 32 points per game on 48.2% shooting from the field. The 11-year veteran also led the league with 5.3 made 3-pointers per game on 42.1% shooting from long distance. Curry added 5.8 assists, 5.5 rebounds and 1.2 steals per contest in 63 games. 

In the past, Curry has been nominated for different ESPY awards, including Breakthrough Athlete (2008), Best Male Athlete (2016), Best Record-Breaking Performance (2016).
