Warriors’ Cory Joseph to suit up for Canada in FIBA World Cup

The Warriors new point guard will suit up for Team Canada in the upcoming FIBA World Cup.

After inking a contract with the Golden State Warriors during the offseason, Cory Joseph will turn his attention to the FIBA World Cup before suiting up in blue and gold. 

Joseph will join Team Canada for the upcoming FIBA World Cup. Joseph will share the court with Shai Gilgeous-Alexander, RJ Barrett, Dillon Brooks, Zach Edey, Lu Dort, newly crowned NBA champion Jamal Murray and other Canadian players.

Fellow Canadian and Warrior Andrew Wiggins will not be on the roster for the FIBA World Cup.

Joseph and the rest of Team Canada recently opened training camp to prepare for the FIBA World Cup. The event begins on Aug. 25 in the Phillippines, Japan and Indonesia. Canada will open against France in Indonesia on Aug. 25. Canada will also meet Latvia and Lebanon in the group stage of the World Cup tournament.
