Vols run-rule Bowling Green for ninth consecutive win

Tennessee run-rules Bowling Green for series win.

No. 8 Tennessee (10-1) defeated Bowling Green (2-6), 12-1 in seven innings, Saturday at Lindsey Nelson Stadium.

Saturday’s win is Tennessee’s ninth consecutive and second straight run-rule win over the Falcons.

Blake Burke went 3-for-4 with two home runs, one double, three runs and two RBIs for Tennessee. Billy Amick also went 3-for-3, recording one home run, one double, three runs and two RBIs.

Tennessee second baseman Christian Moore hit a home run.

The Vols recorded 14 hits in the contest.

Drew Beam started for Tennessee and pitched six innings. He allowed five hits, one earned run and one walk, while recording nine strikeouts.

Aaron Combs pitched the seventh inning for the Vols and recorded one strikeout.
