The win is Tennessee’s seventh consecutive.
First baseman Blake Burke went 3-for-5, recording a two-run home run and five RBIs.
He hit a scoring single in the fourth inning and a two-run home run in the sixth inning.
Jared Dickey went 2-for-4, recording two runs and hit a solo home run in the sixth inning.
Charleston Southern scored its lone run of the contest on a solo home run by Casey Asman in the seventh inning.
Seth Halvorsen (1-0) pitched 2.2 of scoreless relief to earn the win for Tennessee. He allowed one hit and one run, while recording four strikeouts.
Zander Sechrist started and pitched 4.1 innings for the Vols. He allowed three hits and posted five strikeouts.
Kirby Connell and Aaron Combs each pitched one inning. Connell recorded one strikeout, while Combs had two.
