The Savannah Bananas are coming to Baton Rouge.
The independent exhibition team will be playing a three-night showcase at LSU’s Alex Box Stadium from March 14-16, 2024, as part of an agreement between the team and Visit Baton Rouge.
The Bananas got their start as a summer collegiate league ballclub, but they have since taken over the internet thanks to their unique take on the game, which features a penchant for showmanship and a wacky set of rules including no bunting, a two-hour time limit, stealing first base and counting foul balls caught by fans as an out.
Savannah sold out parks in 33 cities as part of its 2023 Banana Ball World Tour. The team has played in Triple-A, Double-A, Single-A and Major League spring training ballparks, but this will be its first in a college stadium.
