Alexander Povetkin put Dillian Whyte’s title plans on hold in dramatic fashion on Aug. 22 in Brentwood, England.

A left uppercut from the Russian ended the fight in an instant 30 seconds into Round 5, which breathed life into the career of Povetkin and turned the career of the WBC’s No. 1 contender upside down.

Whyte was in position to receive a shot at the winner of the third Tyson Fury-Deontay Wilder fight for a world title.

Fortunately for Whyte, he had a rematch clause in the contract with Povetkin. And he has exercised it, meaning they could fight again before the end of the year.

Is that a good idea for Whyte? Or would it better for him to take an interim fight and then get back into the ring with the man who relieved him of his senses?

In this episide of Jabs with Mannix and Mora, courtesy of DAZN, hosts Todd Grisham and Sergio Mora discuss whether they believe Whyte is making a mistake by taking an immediate rematch with Povetkin.
