Another one of LSU’s highly-touted transfers has been drafted as [autotag]Carter Young[/autotag] was picked by the Baltimore Orioles in the 17th round at pick No. 497.
In the past three seasons at Vanderbilt, Young has a .244 batting average with 24 doubles, eight triples, 23 homers, and 90 RBI.
His career up until this point has been a rollercoaster. At one point, he was viewed as a guy that was a top-100 prospect in the draft. Fast forward to 2022, and he gets drafted in Round 17.
Young is a super talented ballplayer that is looking for a fresh start. He has all of the abilities he needs and I think he will right the ship. It is unclear whether he will sign with the Orioles or decide to head to Baton Rouge at this time.
With the 497th pick, the @Orioles select @VandyBoys shortstop Carter Young, No. 237 on the Top 250 Draft Prospects list.
