Guarantano in good company
Jarrett Guarantano had a game to remember last Saturday against the Missouri Tigers, one that has put him in the upper echelon of Volunteer greats. His 400-plus yards against Mizzou made him only the third Vols quarterback ever to accomplish the feat.
One of the others was Tyler Bray, who threw for over 400 yards three times, including a UT-record 530 yards against Troy in 2012. Peyton Manning managed the 400-plus yard feat 17 times in his collegiate career, including a 523-yard effort in 1997 against Tim Couch and the “Air Raid” Kentucky Wildcats.
