Lady Vols volleyball sweeps Alabama
The Lady Vols swept the Crimson Tide in three straight sets to score a road win in Tuscaloosa, Ala. The victory moves Tennessee ahead of Alabama in the SEC standings and they now sit just one game behind Ole Miss.
The team was led by senior outside hitter Tessa Grubbs, who managed 11 kills from the left pin and entered the program’s top 10 all-time list for kills with her fourth of the day; two other players also added 10 kills apiece. Defensively, the Lady Vols limited the Crimson Tide to just .206 hitting percentage and allowed Alabama to record just 32 kills in the match.
Tennessee will next face the Arkansas Razorbacks on Wednesday in Fayetteville, Ark. First serve is scheduled for 6 p.m. (ET) at Barnhill Arena and will be broadcasted on ESPNU.
