Lady Vols face Notre Dame tonight
The Lady Vols basketball team will face the No. 16/14-ranked Notre Dame Fighting Irish on the road tonight in their first true test of the season. Both teams enter the game with a 2-0 record, defeating weaker opponents to open up the year, and both are featured in the top 25 polls.
Head coach Kellie Harper spoke with the media on Sunday, discussing expectations and the challenges presented by the first ranked team they face this season. One of her main points was that the guards need to be more aggressive in this game, especially when they get the ball to the paint.
This is the tenth straight year the Lady Vols and the Irish clash on the court, and the 30th meeting all time, though only the fourth time they have met in November — the last time they faced each other this early was 1996. Gametime is set for 7 p.m. ET and can be watched nationally on ESPN2, and can also be heard on Lady Vol Network radio stations and by audio stream.
