USA TODAY Sports projects Oklahoma, Indiana to meet in Cotton Bowl

USA TODAY Sports’ newest bowl projections has Oklahoma and Indiana meeting up in Arlington for the Cotton Bowl.

Oklahoma is playing as well as anybody right now coming off of their sixth straight win on Saturday against Baylor that clinched themselves a return to the Big 12 Championship Game once again.

Awaiting them there will be a rematch with Iowa State after the Cyclones knocked off the Sooners way back in the third game of the season.

Last week, USA TODAY Sports’ projected Oklahoma to meet with Georgia in the Goodyear Cotton Bowl in a rematch of the epic 2018 Rose Bowl College Football Playoff Semifinal those teams had three seasons ago.

In this week’s bowl projections, the Sooners are still set to head to Arlington but with a different opponent awaiting them: Indiana.

The Hoosiers have been one of the surprise teams in college football with their 6-1 record and are fresh off an upset road win over Wisconsin last Saturday.

Oklahoma and Indiana have only ever met one time and it came all the way back in 1928 with the Hoosiers winning that one in a slugfest 10-7.

Almost a full century later, these two programs could be gearing up to meet again.
