The Jets are still in control of the No. 1 pick following their 30-27 loss to the Patriots on Monday night.
New York fell to 0-9 on the year and maintained its 1.5-game lead over the Jaguars for the No. 1 overall pick in the 2021 NFL draft. Had the Jets won on Monday, they would have only been ahead of the Jaguars for the top pick by a few strength of schedule percentage points.
The Jets still control their own destiny to land the top pick in next year’s draft. If they lose out, then they’re guaranteed to have the No. 1 overall pick. If the Jets just so happen to win a game, it could ruin their chances of getting the top pick and presumably Clemson’s Trevor Lawrence.
Here’s where the first round of the 2021 NFL draft order stands after Week 9 of the NFL regular season.
1. New York Jets (0-9)
