Buffalo Bills starting safety Micah Hyde is expected to be OK following a brief injury scare during the first week of the team’s training camp.
On Friday, the fifth day of workouts for the Bills, Hyde went up for an interception on a pass from quarterback Josh Allen intended for receiver Stefon Diggs. After grabbing the ball, Hyde hit the ground hard and the team’s training staff attended to him.
Hyde eventually walked off under his own power but with a noticeable limp. He also ended up leaving the practice with trainers on a cart.
Ensuing reports hold good news.
According to NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport, Hyde is expected to be fine. Per Rap Sheet, Hyde is “still being evaluated” but added the issue is considered “relatively minor.”
Officially, Hyde’s injury was categorized as a “hip/glute’ situation.
Buffalo will hold their sixth day of training camp on Saturday. That is slated to be the team’s first full padded practice.
Because of the physical nature of such sessions, it’s likely that Hyde will sit that out as a precaution.
