UNLV expected to hire Texas’ Brennan Marion as offensive coordinator

He has held 12 jobs in the first 13 years of his coaching career.

Texas wide receivers coach and passing game coordinator Brennan Marion only spent one season in Austin.

Marion was hired by Steve Sarkisian last offseason after developing the Biletnikoff Award winner at Pitt, Jordan Addison. The upcoming young coach is now on the move again.

According to Bruce Feldman of The Athletic, Marion is expected to be hired as UNLV’s offensive coordinator. New UNLV head coach Barry Odom originally hired Bobby Petrino for the role, who was then hired by Jimbo Fisher at Texas A&M three weeks later.

With the expected hiring of Marion, Odom will officially complete his first coaching staff at UNLV.

Marion is known to jump around to new opportunities. He has held 12 jobs in the first 13 years of his coaching career and played at three different schools in college prior to becoming a coach.

It’s unclear how the unexpected news will impact current players on Texas’ roster, who appeared to have a strong connection with Marion.
