UNC basketball falls in AP Top 25 following back-to-back losses

The UNC basketball program took a step back in the AP Top 25 following back-to-back losses last week.

The UNC basketball program dropped drastically in the updated AP Top 25 rankings after losing back-to-back games in the Phil Knight Invitational last week.

The Tar Heels, who held the No. 1 ranking for the first three weeks, fell to No. 18 this week. They lost to an unranked Iowa State program and to then-No. 18 Alabama in 4OT.

The Cyclones move to No. 23 in the rankings while the Crimson Tide come in at No. 11.

Now, UNC will travel to Indiana for the ACC/Big Ten Challenge. The Hoosiers come in at No. 10 in the new rankings.

Following Indiana, the Tar Heels will face Virginia Tech next week. The Hokies received one vote for the top 25.
