Two Tennessee relay teams earn All-America status

Lady Vols’ relay teams earn All-America status at swim championships.

Two Tennessee women’s swimming relay teams earned All-America honors Wednesday on the first day of the NCAA championships at McCauley Aquatics Center in Atlanta, Georgia.

The No. 5 Lady Vols earned a podium finish in the 800 free relay. The team of Julia Mrozinski, Ellen Walshe, Brooklyn Douthwright and Tiasa Pintar came in eighth with a time of 6:57.59.

The team’s mark was the fourth fastest time in program history.

UT’s 200 medley relay team of Josephine Fuller, Mona McSharry, Walshe and Anna-Julia Kutsch finished 11th with a time of 1:35.26 and earned Honorable Mention All-America recognition.

After the first two events, the Lady Vols are tied for ninth in the team standings with Georgia (34 points).
